• Evaluates, tests, monitors, and maintains information systems (IS) and cyber security policies, procedures and systems I Creates, implements and oversees identity management systems to meet specific security needs and complex compliance standards
• Ensures that IS and cyber security plans, controls, processes, standards, policies and procedures are aligned with IS standards and overall IS and cyber security
• Identifies security risks and exposures, determines the causes of security violations and suggests procedures to halt future incidents and improve security
• Develops techniques and procedures for conducting IS, cyber security and access and identity risk assessments and compliance audits, the evaluation and testing of hardware, firmware and software for possible impact on system security, and the investigation and resolution of security incidents such as intrusion, frauds, attacks or leaks

We are seeking a Cybersecurity Intern to join our team in Malta, New York for Summer 2027. As a Cybersecurity Intern, you willassistinmaintainingand enhancing GlobalFoundries data protection and data loss prevention (DLP) strategies while gaining hands-on experience with cybersecurity practices, policies, and technologies focused on safeguarding sensitive information.
Essential Responsibilities include:
Assistwith the implementation, configuration, and monitoring of DLP tools to help prevent unauthorized data exfiltration.
Analyze alerts and reports from DLP systems and provide recommendations for mitigating dataleakage relatedrisks.
Support investigations into data breaches, including root cause analysis and documentation.
Help develop and update data protection policies and procedures.
Work on projects related to DLP and other data protection technologies and initiatives as assigned.
Other Responsibilities:
Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Securityrequirementsand programs.
Required Qualifications:
Education – At least a sophomore at time of application and actively pursuing a Bachelor’sin Cybersecurity, Information Technology, ComputerScienceor related field through an accredited degree program during the time of internship.
Must have at least an overall 3.0 GPA and be in good academic standing.
Language Fluency - English (Written & Verbal)
Ability to work at least40 hoursper week during the internship.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior related internship or co-op experience
Demonstrated prior leadership experience in the workplace, school projects, competitions, etc.
Strong interest inleveragingAI tools and emerging technologies to enhance productivity, streamline workflows, and support effective decision-making.
Project management skills, i.e., the ability to innovate andexecute onsolutions that matter; the ability to navigate ambiguity.
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong planning & organizational skills
Basic knowledge of cybersecurity principles and data protection practices
Familiarity with DLP tools (e.g., Forcepoint, Microsoft Purview) and concepts is a plus
Eagerness to learn and adapt tonew technologiesand processes.
