The Cybersecurity Engineer is responsible for testing, evaluating, and supporting cybersecurity platforms, tools, and system integrations across the enterprise environment. This role ensures reliable operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of hardware and software within distributed network infrastructures.
The engineer will analyze and remediate network vulnerabilities based on security assessments, scan results, and findings provided by internal teams. This position requires close collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders to strengthen the organization’s overall security posture and ensure the effectiveness of implemented security controls.
Primary Responsibilities:
Conduct risk assessments, audits, and control validations
Maintain and update security documentation, policies, and procedures
Test and evaluate cybersecurity tools, platforms, and integrations
Troubleshoot hardware and software issues across distributed network environments
Support vulnerability management processes, including identification, analysis, and remediation
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Management of Information Technology, or a related field.
4-8 years of experience in information security or related roles.
Excellent communication and multi-tasking skills
Proactive and ability to work both singularly and in a Team environment.
Familiarity of networking ports and protocols, architecture of networked and standalone systems, functionality of various operating systems, cloud computing environments and common security tools.
Ability to digest and comprehend information system topology diagrams and Concept of Operations documentation
Knowledge with federal standards such as NIST, FISMA and FIPS
Exposure to Security Control Audits
Proficient with MS Office
Active (or held within 3 years) Security Clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, Security+, CySA+) are a plus.
Experience with SIEM products such as Splunk, Nessus
Scripting and automation skills (Python, Bash, PowerShell)
Must be within commute distance to Marshall Spaceflight Center (Huntsville, AL)

Pay Range $87,100.00 - $157,450.00
