About the role
About the role As a Cyber Security Engineer, you will be responsible for strengthening and protecting the organization’s security foundation. You will design and implement security controls, identify and mitigate risks, and ensure that critical systems remain resilient against evolving threats. This role blends hands-on technical work with strategic guidance, supporting teams across the organization in building and maintaining secure architectures and workflows. Your expertise will help drive strong security practices, improve defenses, and uphold a reliable and secure operational environment.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will develop and maintain the security controls that protect the organization’s systems, infrastructure, and data. You will monitor for threats, address vulnerabilities, and ensure that risks are identified and mitigated effectively. You’ll lead the investigation and management of security incidents, driving timely remediation and long-term improvements. Collaboration with engineering and operations teams will be essential, helping embed secure practices into architectures, workflows, and deployments. You will also contribute to security automation, maintain clear documentation, and support the adoption of strong and consistent security standards across the organization. You will be working with supporting Sales in customer meetings, acting as a cybersecurity authority, and overseeing certifications and platform audits.
Qualifications
Core experience
5+ years in cybersecurity, application security, or security engineering
Experience working with vulnerabilities in complex environments (cloud, infrastructure, or applications)
Strong understanding of common vulnerability classes and attack techniques (e.g., OWASP Top 10)
Ability to assess risk and make pragmatic security decisions in a business context
Vulnerability management & ownership
Proven experience owning and driving a vulnerability management process end-to-end
Strong ability to prioritize vulnerabilities based on risk, exploitability, and business impact
Ability to define and improve processes, tooling, and workflows for vulnerability handling
Developer & business collaboration
Acts as a trusted security partner for developers, supporting secure design and remediation
Ability to support sales and customer-facing teams with security-related questions, questionnaires, and discussions
Strong ability to translate technical findings into clear, business-relevant language
Cloud, infrastructure, and AppSec
Experience securing cloud (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and on-prem environments with modern architectures
Understanding of secure development practices, SDLC, and DevSecOps
Familiarity with application security concepts and mitigation strategies
Experience with threat modeling or security reviews is a plus
Security operations & incident support
Understanding of security tooling such as vulnerability scanners, SIEM, or EDR/XDR
Ability to support incident investigations by analyzing logs, identifying root cause, and contributing to remediation actions
Experience helping drive improvements based on incidents and identified gaps
Nice to have
Familiarity with frameworks such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, CIS, or similar
Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CCSP, GIAC)
