About the role:

The L2 Security Analyst is responsible for handling complex cybersecurity incidents, performing advanced and forensic analysis to identify their root cause and impact. They also coordinate responses to critical events and ensure efficient incident resolution.

Additionally, they improve security tools by developing detection rules, support Tier 1 analysts, and collaborate with other teams. Their main goal is to detect, prevent, and respond to advanced threats, protecting critical infrastructure and sensitive information.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advanced Analysis & Incident Handling: Analyse complex incidents and assess their impact and sophistication.
  • Incident Coordination & Escalation: Manage critical incidents, coordinate responses, and escalate when needed.
  • Forensic Investigation: Identify root causes, scope, and collect relevant evidence.
  • Detection & Tool Optimization: Improve SIEM/EDR tools through rule tuning and performance enhancements.
  • Technical Support & Training: Guide Tier 1 analysts and share knowledge on emerging threats.
  • Threat Intelligence & Risk Management: Integrate threat intelligence and support vulnerability mitigation.
  • Process Improvement & Reporting: Update policies and create clear executive reports.
  • Collaboration & Continuous Improvement: Work with internal teams and enhance incident response processes.

Required Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle complex security incidents.
  • Experience with SIEM and EDR tools (e.g., Splunk, Sentinel, CrowdStrike, Defender).
  • Solid understanding of networking (TCP/IP) and operating systems
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work effectively under pressure with strong communication skills.
