As our Cyber Threat Hunter, you'll help protect the technology environment that supports thousands of employees, residents and clients across our aged care, community and family services. Working within our Cyber Security and IT Risk team, you'll proactively search for hidden threats, investigate suspicious activity and identify emerging attack techniques before they impact the organisation.

Your opportunity

You will play a key role in strengthening Anglicare's cyber resilience through proactive threat hunting, investigation and detection improvement activities. You'll work closely with Cyber Security, IT Operations, Architecture and Risk teams to identify adversary behaviour, reduce attacker dwell time and continuously enhance our security monitoring and response capabilities.

With integrity and a proactive mindset, you will:

• Conduct proactive threat hunts across endpoints, identities, networks, cloud platforms and business-critical systems.
• Develop and test threat hunting hypotheses using threat intelligence, incident trends and security telemetry.
• Investigate suspicious activity, indicators of compromise and emerging attacker techniques.
• Support cyber incident response activities by validating alerts, enriching investigations and recommending remediation actions.
• Correlate security events across SIEM, EDR, identity, email, network and cloud platforms.
• Translate threat intelligence into practical detection logic, monitoring improvements and security recommendations.
• Enhance detection rules, dashboards, playbooks and reporting capabilities.
• Collaborate with cyber security, infrastructure, architecture and business stakeholders to strengthen organisational resilience.

What you'll bring

You're an experienced cyber security professional with a passion for proactive defence and a strong understanding of attacker behaviours, threat detection and incident investigation. You enjoy solving complex problems, analysing large datasets and identifying risks before they become incidents.

You will also need:

• Experience in cyber security operations, threat hunting, incident response, security monitoring or a related cyber defence role.
• Strong knowledge of attacker tactics, techniques and procedures and frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK.
• Hands-on experience with SIEM, EDR, identity protection, email security, cloud security and threat intelligence platforms.
• Strong analytical and investigative capabilities with the ability to identify abnormal behaviour and correlate complex datasets.
• Experience using KQL, SQL, Python, PowerShell or similar technologies to support analysis and automation.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• A tertiary qualification in Cyber Security, Information Security, Computer Science, IT or a related discipline.

Highly desirable

• Industry certifications such as GIAC, GCIA, GCIH, GCTI, CySA+, SC-200, CISSP, CISM or MITRE ATT&CK Defender.
• Experience working within complex enterprise environments.
• Experience supporting threat hunting, digital forensics or security operations functions.
