Transport for NSW is seeking Cyber Security Solution Architects to deliver enterprise-wide cyber architecture across IT, Communications Technology (CT), and Operational Technology (OT) environments.
This role is designed for specialists in one domain (IT, CT, or OT) who are passionate about working across a broader ecosystem. You’ll help design secure, resilient solutions that translate cyber strategy into real-world outcomes, supporting the safe and reliable transport services relied on by millions.

About the role
As a Cyber Security Solution Architect, you will design and assure secure solutions within your domain of expertise, while contributing to integration across a complex, interconnected environment.
Depending on your background, you will focus on:
IT Security Architecture (Enterprise & Cloud)
- Design secure solutions across enterprise systems, applications, and cloud platforms
- Implement controls such as IAM, MFA, Zero Trust, and data protection
- Enable logging, SIEM, threat detection, and secure SDLC practices
- Contribute to standards aligned to ISO 27001 and NIST
CT Security Architecture (Networks & PCI)
- Deliver secure designs across communications networks and PCI environments
- Translate PCI DSS v4.0 requirements into practical solutions
- Implement segmentation, encryption, and tokenisation
- Support audit readiness, incident response, and vendor assurance
OT Security Architecture (Industrial Systems)
- Design secure solutions for OT/ICS environments (SCADA, PLC, DCS)
- Apply segmentation aligned to IEC 62443 (zones & conduits)
- Secure industrial systems while maintaining safety and uptime
- Enable OT monitoring, secure remote access, and risk-based patching
This is a hybrid role based in Macquarie Park, Sydney.
About you
You are an experienced Cyber Security Solution Architect with deep expertise in one domain (IT, CT, or OT) and the ability to collaborate across others.
You bring:
- Proven experience in cyber solution architecture within IT, CT, or OT environments
- Strong understanding of relevant frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, PCI DSS, or IEC 62443
- Ability to balance cyber risk with delivery priorities in complex environments
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence and align stakeholders
- A collaborative mindset and passion for mentoring and uplifting cyber capability
Skills & Experience
- 10+ years in cyber security or security architecture
- Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, PCI ISA/PCIP, or GICSP (highly regarded)
- Expertise in one or more areas: cloud, IAM, SIEM, network security, or OT security.
