Job Description

The role:

A technically accomplished Expert Cyber Security Operations Centre Analyst to monitor the organisation’s cybersecurity state, handle incidents during cyber-attacks and assure the continued operations of ICT systems. This role is also responsible for monitoring and assessing Convatec’s systems cybersecurity state. Analyses, evaluates and mitigates the impact of cybersecurity incidents.

This role requires, deep understanding of Incident response procedures and incident handling procedures.

Key responsibilities and authority

• Contribute to the development, maintenance and assessment of the Cyber Incident Response Plan for regular and major cyber incidentes
• Develop, implement and assess procedures related to cyber incident handling and containment
• Identify, analyse, mitigate and communicate cybersecurity incidents
• Measure cybersecurity incidents detection and response effectiveness
• Evaluate the resilience of the cybersecurity controls and mitigation actions taken after a cybersecurity or data breach incident
• Adopt and develop incident handling and containment testing techniques
• Establish procedures for cyber incident results analysis and cyber incident handling reporting
• Document cyber incident results analysis and cyber incident handling actions
• Cooperate with Secure Operation Centres (SOCs) and Computer Security Incident Response Teams (CSIRTs)
• Cooperate with key personnel for reporting of security incidents according to applicable legal framework.

Key requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience as Cyber Security Operations Centre Analyst
• Technical expertise in the following:
  • Incident handling standards, methodologies and frameworks
  • Incident handling recommendations and best practices
  • Incident handling tools
  • Incident handling communication procedures
  • Operating systems security
  • Computer networks security
  • Cyber threats
  • Cybersecurity attack procedures
  • Computer systems vulnerabilities
  • Cybersecurity-related certifications
  • Cybersecurity related laws, regulations and legislations
  • Secure Operation Centres (SOCs) operation
  • Computer Security Incident Response Teams (CSIRTs) operation

Education/ Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Software Engineering or equivalent experience

Desirable:

• Cybersecurity-related certifications (CySA+, CASP+, CISSP, CISA, CISM)

Examples

• There will be instances where you will have to deal with several security events simultaneously and will have to be able to prioritise and track all events you are investigating.
• There will be a need to do a transfer of ongoing incidents to the team located in another location to ensure continuity of the incidents investigation and management until closure.
• There will be instances where you will need to provide training and mentoring to more junior colleagues to help them grow in there role and the capability.

Travel Requirements

Position may involve travel up to 10% of the time, mostly within Europe but overseas travel is expected. Most trips will include overnight travel.

Hybrid working 1 or 2 days per week in the office driven by business requirements as Convatec has a flexible approach to office working

Special factors

This Position will require On-Call work to cover weekends, and moving forward possible shifts to cover weekends and public holidays in order to ensure 24h/7 SOC Coverage.
