A Cybersecurity Internship offers the following learning opportunities:
In this position, the Intern will learn the facets of the Cybersecurity Program, policies, and requirements for a wide variety of systems supporting Colorado Springs Utilities customers, operations, and service delivery. The Intern will provide input and improvement recommendations based on analysis, research, and experience.
The Intern will have the opportunity to engage with many employees throughout the organization on security practices, common mitigations, and use critical thinking skills to work through different scenarios and potential vulnerabilities.
Successful candidates can expect to perform some or all of the following responsibilities:
This position requires up to 40 hours per week during the summer months and during academic breaks and up to 20 hours per week during the academic school year. The position can be flexible to support a student’s school schedule. This position may be extended due to the applicant’s availability and upcoming projects providing additional learning experience.
*This is an on-site, non-remote/non-telecommuting position
*Hourly rate is dependent on year completed of academic degree, e.g., second year complete, third year complete, etc.
*Candidates MUST be enrolled in a degree seeking program (Associates/Bachelors/Masters) and be able to provide documentation if requested. Certification programs do not qualify.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:
-Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or small amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
-Positions in this class typically require talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions within an office working environment.
