Blackbaud’s Cyber Security Countermeasures team is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Security Engineer to join our dynamic global organization. In this critical Tier 1 support role, you will help safeguard Blackbaud’s systems, data, and users, supporting a global workforce by managing, maintaining, and enhancing our security tools and policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary responder for Tier 1 cyber security support, including triaging, troubleshooting, and resolving security incidents and trouble tickets.
  • Manage and maintain policy and configuration settings for a wide range of cyber security tools.
  • Oversee and execute patch and configuration management processes across all relevant systems and platforms.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for configurations, processes, and incident responses.
  • Actively collaborate with global teams and stakeholders to ensure consistent security posture across the organization.
  • Continuously learn and support all four core domain areas and their associated tools.
  • Candidates must have deep expertise in at least one of the following cyber security domains and a willingness to learn and support the others:
    • Application Protection
    • Endpoint Protection
    • Perimeter Protection
    • Network Protection

Key Technologies & Tools

Experience with the following tools and platforms is highly desirable:

  • CyberArk
  • zScaler
  • CrowdStrike
  • CISCO Firepower
  • Algosec
  • BeyondTrust
  • Valimail
  • DMARC and email security solutions
  • Microsoft Defender Suite
  • AWS and Azure deployments

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in cyber security engineering or related field.
  • Must be able to work 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM US Eastern Time Zone.
  • Demonstrated expertise in at least one of the four key domains (Appl ication, Endpoint, Perimeter, or Network Protection).
  • Hands-on experience with at least one of the listed tools; ability and willingness to learn others.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive and detail-oriented approach.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills; experience working as part of a global team is a plus.
  • Experience with incident response, configuration management, and change management processes.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CEH, CISM, or vendor-specific certifications) are a plus.
  • Possesses effective communication and collaboration skills
  • Experience working in matrix teams and solo projects/efforts
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and high stress situation
  • Ability to deliver work that meets all minimum standards of security, quality and operability.
