We’re seeking a skilled Cyber Security Specialist to support operations at Kirtland Air Force Base, contributing directly to the security posture of critical Air Force and DoD systems.
In this role, you will ensure the implementation of cybersecurity protections, detect and mitigate malicious activity, and help maintain compliance across USAF and DoD information systems. You’ll also support supplier risk management, insider threat programs, and the full lifecycle of assessment and authorization activities.
Work independently to meet daily objectives with significant impact on mission operations and project deliverables.
Collaborate with internal teams and customer stakeholders to implement cybersecurity solutions and processes.
Represent the organization on technical review boards, inspections, and compliance teams.
Coordinate with system owners on security compliance and Authority to Operate (ATO) requirements.
Conduct periodic reviews to ensure adherence to established cybersecurity policies and procedures.
Notify leadership of system changes that may affect authorization status.
Assess system security threats and risks, validating security requirements and analysis.
Support the Assessment & Authorization (A&A) process, including documentation and coordination.
Track security incidents and, when required, investigate, document, report, and recommend corrective actions.
Assist USAF, DoD, PMOs, and vendors with A&A development and execution.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field and 4+ years of experience Additional related experience and additional certifications may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Demonstrated experience in information security.
Active Top Secret / SCI clearance.
DoD 8570 IAT Level II compliant.
Knowledge of RMF processes, eMASS, and XACTA workflows.
Experience using Air Force systems and databases.
Understanding of military IT policies and procedures.
Experience with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, etc.).
Current on required ADLS and/or INSCOM training.
Experience supporting Air Force ISR operations.
AWS Security Engineering coursework.
ISC2 CISSP or CCSP coursework.
Certified Information Security Manager (CISM).
Experience with Jira and Confluence.

Pay Range $87,100.00 - $157,450.00
