About the Role

As a Cyber Operations Coordinator – Specialist, you’ll sit at the centre of our Cyber Security function, enabling the smooth running of our Cyber Requirements & Prioritisation team.

The Opportunity

This is a high-impact coordination role, helping leaders stay aligned, priorities moving, and critical cyber initiatives on track. You’ll also support the Deputy CISO, giving you strong exposure to senior leadership and strategic cyber activities.

This is a permanent full-time role based in Canberra.

Candidates must be Australian citizens and hold a current NV2 Security Clearance. They must also be willing to obtain Positive Vetting (PV) Security Clearance to be considered for the role.

What You’ll Do

Drive Operational Rhythm

  • Establish, Drive and Coordinate forums, stand-ups, and key operational cadences

  • Prepare agendas, capture decisions, and track actions

  • Deliver operational coordination and planning frameworks

  • Maintain clear dashboards to provide visibility of priorities

Enable the Function

  • Support requirements, prioritisation, and capability workflows

  • Maintain key artefacts such as backlogs and readiness records

Connect Teams Across Cyber

  • Act as a central coordination point across Cyber Security - Requirements & Prioritisation, Cyber Remediation, Threat Research & Intelligence, SOC, and Security Engineering.

  • Ensure dependencies are visible and commitments are delivered

  • Support Leadership

  • Prepare executive briefs, updates, and read-outs

  • Track actions and ensure timely follow-up for the Deputy CISO

What You Bring

Essential

  • 3+ years’ experience in operations, cyber security, IT risk, or coordination/project roles

  • Working knowledge of cyber operations, risk management, or IT processes

  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities.

  • Clear, professional communication skills, including executive-level materials

  • Ability to collaborate across teams without formal authority

  • Awareness of cyber security frameworks and threat landscape

  • Ability to obtain and hold an Australian Government Security Clearance

Nice to Have

  • Exposure to cyber security control framework

  • Relevant tertiary qualification (Cyber, IT, or similar)
