About Our Client

Our client is a Malaysian firm established in Johor Bahru that provides mechanical, electrical, and process engineering services for construction projects across Malaysia and Indonesia.

Job Summary

This role involves directing the full lifecycle of commissioning for complex mechanical, electrical, and process installations. The incumbent will coordinate multidisciplinary efforts to execute testing, balancing, and handover procedures, ensuring systems meet design specifications and safety standards while minimizing project delays.

Key Responsibilities

• Formulate and administer comprehensive commissioning strategies, defining work scopes, timelines, and resource needs to align with project milestones and client expectations.
• Supervise pre-commissioning, active commissioning, and post-commissioning phases for MEP systems, ensuring strict compliance with international benchmarks like ASHRAE and IEC, as well as local regulatory requirements.
• Liaise with design consultants, main contractors, and subcontractors to resolve technical conflicts, manage deficiency lists, and ensure the seamless integration of building management systems and control logic.
• Direct the creation and review of critical technical records, including method statements, risk assessments, test and balance reports, and as-built drawings, to support efficient project handover.
• Track site progress to detect potential commissioning risks early, deploying mitigation measures to preserve quality and schedule integrity.
• Perform performance verification tests to confirm installed systems function within design parameters, delivering final certification and training to client operations teams.
• Enforce health, safety, and environmental protocols throughout all commissioning activities, particularly within high-risk industrial or commercial settings.

Requirements

• Hold a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering, or a comparable technical field.
• Possess at least 5–7 years of experience in MEP commissioning, including a minimum of 2 years in a managerial or senior coordination capacity.
• Demonstrate a proven history of successfully commissioning complex commercial, industrial, or infrastructure projects in Malaysia or Indonesia.
• Exhibit strong working knowledge of MEP systems, including HVAC, electrical distribution, fire protection, and process piping, alongside familiarity with BMS/BA systems.
• Show proficiency in commissioning standards such as ASHRAE Guideline 0, CxP, or equivalent industry best practices.
• Display excellent project management capabilities, with the ability to handle multiple workstreams, stakeholders, and tight deadlines.
• Possess a valid professional certification (e.g., PE, CEM, or CxP), which is highly desirable.
