Job Duties:

  • The CWS Team Coordinator - OHAN primary purpose is to provide leadership, supervision and support to team leaders within Out of Home Investigations Unit (OHAN) by promoting adherence to DSS policies and procedures, agency mission, and GPS Practice Model.
  • Provides direct supervision, coaching and mentoring to Team Leaders by promoting safety, permanency and well-being by ensuring fidelity to policy and procedures, conducting case consultations, facilitating meetings, reviewing data reports, monitoring policy changes, ensuring staff attendance in mandatory trainings, and conducting periodic case reviews to ensure quality practice. Coordinates and performs on-call duties.
  • Authentically engages and works collaboratively with child welfare staff, families and other professionals with empathy, respect and leadership to include timely responses to telephone calls, emails, and texts. Responds timely and professionally to constituent inquiries from the public and families to problem solve and bring resolution to inquiries.
  • Reviews policies and practices related to OHAN annually, at a minimum, and updates as needed. Reviews, develops, and implements data reports for comprehensive assessments to include CAPSS, ADR, and Safe Measures reports.
  • Provides Team Leaders with EPMS planning and evaluation plans. Participates in hiring and training of all new employees, promotes equal opportunity, develops a diverse workforce, and gives fair opportunity to all staff. Completes performance and practice evaluations on direct reports biannually and upon request for level ascension. Timely submits evaluations for level ascension.
  • Coordinates with Office of General Counsel with preparing of court actions and participates in staff meetings and/or conferences; represents OHAN at meetings. Designated as the OHAN back-up for the appellate process which includes handling Interim Review requests and OAH decisions.
  • Conducts EPMS planning stage and evaluation for direct reports, participates in interview and selection process of employees for vacant positions and manage substandard job performance, disciplinary actions, and other personnel issues as required.
  • Performs other related duties as requested by management.

Examples of duties

A Bachelor's Degree and four (4) years of experience in any combination of social work, management, business administration, administrative services or public administration.

A Master's Degree and two (2) years of experience in any combination of social work, management, business administration, administrative services or public administration.
