District Promotion Manager

Job Purpose

Reporting to the Commercial Lead, the District Promotion Manager provides leadership and direction to the field team within the assigned district, with accountability for delivering business and promotional objectives while ensuring strong execution of Amgen’s commercial strategy.

The role is responsible for leading, coaching and developing a high-performing team of Biopharmaceutical Representatives, translating brand and business priorities into effective district execution, and leveraging customer and market insights to optimize performance.

As a key field leader, the District Promotion Manager works cross-functionally to strengthen customer engagement, support business growth and ensure that all activities are conducted in accordance with Amgen policies, internal standards and applicable local regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Business & Execution Leadership

  • Own district performance and drive execution against agreed sales, promotional and business objectives.
  • Translate national commercial and brand strategies into clear district priorities, action plans and execution standards.
  • Leverage business analytics, market dynamics, customer insights and competitive intelligence to identify opportunities and drive performance.
  • Ensure disciplined execution, effective resource allocation and appropriate follow-up of district KPIs.
  • Support the effective execution of product launches, strategic initiatives and key business priorities within the district.

People Leadership & Capability Building

  • Lead, inspire and develop a team of Biopharmaceutical Representatives, creating a culture of performance, accountability and continuous development.
  • Set clear expectations and provide ongoing coaching, feedback and performance management.
  • Conduct regular field visits and coaching interactions to strengthen commercial capabilities and execution excellence.
  • Identify individual and team development needs and establish meaningful development plans.
  • Recognize strong performance while proactively addressing performance gaps.

Customer & Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Develop a strong understanding of the district healthcare environment and evolving customer needs.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with key healthcare professionals, institutions and relevant stakeholders.
  • Partner effectively with Marketing, Medical Affairs, Market Access and other cross-functional teams to ensure aligned and integrated execution.
  • Bring relevant field and customer insights into business discussions to support informed decision-making and strategic planning.

Compliance & Operational Excellence

  • Ensure all field and promotional activities are conducted in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, Amgen policies and SOPs.
  • Maintain high standards of operational discipline, documentation and reporting.
  • Manage district budgets and resources responsibly and effectively.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting of business performance, field activities and relevant KPIs.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation to support internal reviews and audit requirements.

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Medicine, Life Sciences or a related discipline; an advanced business degree/MBA is an advantage.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant pharmaceutical commercial experience, with at least 2 years of people management experience.
  • Demonstrated track record of leading teams and delivering strong business results.
  • Strong coaching and people-development capabilities, with the ability to build and sustain high-performing teams.
  • Strong understanding of the local pharmaceutical market, healthcare environment and regulatory landscape.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate strategy into effective field execution.
  • Strong business acumen and analytical capabilities, with the ability to use data and insights to drive decisions.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a cross-functional and matrix environment.
  • Strong planning, prioritization and organizational capabilities.
  • High standards of integrity and a strong commitment to compliance and ethical business practices.
  • Fluency in French and Arabic; proficiency in English is an asset.
