The Commission on Cancer (CoC) Accreditation Support role plays a crucial part in assessing, preparing and submitting application for CoC accreditation. Responsibilities include:
- Educate cancer program leadership on standards intent, compliance requirements and member responsibilities.
- Use standardized tools for program oversight, meeting planning, standards tracking and annual reports.
- Serve as Cancer Registry Quality Coordinator and/or alternate on the CoC committee if requested.
- Serve as ODS-C member and/or alternate for the Cancer Committee if requested.
- Create agendas, presentation slides and meeting minutes for meetings attended as requested.
- Manage RCRS processes and review patient outliers.
- Provide cancer registry data for studies, RCRS and quarterly registry reports.
- Provide accreditation education and best practices for maintaining compliance.
- Perform quarterly GAP analyses to ensure ongoing compliance and routine reporting.
- Prepare and organize materials for site review
- Attend the CoC site visit onsite or virtually, if requested
Certifications: Certified Cancer Registrar aka Oncology Data Specialist
Experience: Previous experience with applying for and maintaining CoC accreditation for a Cancer Center.
