A Brief Overview
Applies the specialized knowledge and technical skills of a radiology technologist while imaging/scrubbing diagnostic and interventional pacing and electrophysiology procedures in the Electrophysiology Lab. Monitors patients' hemodynamic and clinical status and informs team members of any changes. Performs these functions during regular working hours and on call.

Education Qualifications

  • High School Diploma / GED Required


Experience Qualifications

  • 1 year Diagnostic radiology experience desired and demonstrated acceptable knowledge level of all diagnostic radiology procedures. Preferred
  • Previous invasive procedure experience (ie Cath Lab, IR, EP Lab) desired. Preferred

Licenses and Certifications

  • Registered Technologist - ARRT Passage of ARRT(R) is required within 12 months of employment to maintain position. Required
  • Licensed Radiology Technologist (LRT) - KSBHA Must have current Kansas license within 60 days of hire, or within 60 days of obtaining ARRT registry.
  • Basic Life Support - BLS Required within 90 days of hire.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support - ACLS Preferred


What you will do

  • Provides a positive image to customers by creating a friendly atmosphere and placing a high priority on meeting customer needs in a courteous manner.
  • Maintains scrubbing skills for all equipment and procedures. Sets up equipment and room for procedures. Keeps rooms stocked with appropriate supplies.
  • Evaluates and monitors patients’ hemodynamic and clinical status and informs team members of any change in status. Identifies and responds appropriately in crisis situations. Accurately documents all care rendered.
  • Utilizes correct film technique. Cones and pans well to minimize patient and staff exposure.
  • Responds to needs and is knowledgeable of appropriate care for school-aged through gerontological patients.
  • Participates in collection of data for departmental databases in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Adheres to all department and hospital policy and procedures including Radiation Safety Standards and Infection Control policies. Maintains clean and sterile environments as appropriate.
  • Documents patient or device complications appropriately. Participates on performance improvement committees as needed.
  • Participates in on-call rotation to provide 24-hour availability for patients that require emergent interventions.
  • Demonstrates proper prepping, draping technique.
  • Understands and practices patient confidentiality.
