Follows Alliance of Cardiovascular Professionals (ACVP) Scope of Practice or for Electrophysiology the NASPE Standards of Professional Practice for the Allied Professional in Pacing and Electrophysiology.

The CVIS II performs a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment. The CVIS II assumes responsibility and initiative for designated areas and procedures as required. Follows Alliance of Cardiovascular Professionals (ACVP) scope of practice or for Electrophysiology, the NASPE Standards of Professional Practice for the Allied Professional in Pacing and Electrophysiology. Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) or Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) is required to pass medications.

Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers.
PALS certification for children's hospitals or ACLS certification for adults. New employees must obtain within 3 months of start.
Beginning March 1, 2026 must be registered as a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) or Registered Cardiovascular Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) or ARRT-CI or ARRT-VI only or RN (previous relevant RN experience required)
Demonstrated expertise in performing complex diagnostic and advanced interventional procedures or demonstrated understanding and proficiency in correlation with years of experience with regards to electrophysiology procedures.
Maintains at least 12 hours of continuing medical education (CME) credits per year.
Demonstrates clinical competence of CVIS/CVES skills evidenced by skills sign off
Surgical Tech/Assistant Certification per state requirements
Fluoroscopy Operator Certification as required in the state of Colorado
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in health science program. Education must be obtained through an accredited institution. Degree will be verified.

Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology, Cardiovascular Technology, or Respiratory Therapy program
One year of Invasive Cardiovascular Technology or Electrophysiology experience (not including academic training or CVIS training).
Physical Requirements
For roles requiring driving: Expected to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles.
