The Cardiovascular/Interventional Technologist performs vascular procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail. Performs a variety of highly specialized cardiac, vascular, or interventional procedures that require independent judgment to apply prescribed techniques to obtain the best possible diagnostic and therapeutic results. This position requires age related competencies. CCSS: The Cardiovascular Technologists assumes responsibility for interpreting diagnostic and interventional procedures performed in the Heart Cath Lab in order that data be obtained and entered into the CCSS database. This position requires age related competencies. Performs all other job duties as assigned. The CV/Interventional Tech's responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Performing vascular procedures independent of supervision of technical quality, assist in completion of reports of various reports, development policy and procedures, charge sheets, patient requisition in a timely manner; transport patients; maintain universal precaution; administration of contrast material according to order, selection of equipment, and assisting physicians as needed.

Reports to: Cath Lab - the assigned supervisor and Department Director. / Radiology - Lead Technologist.

This position may have additional or varied physical demand and/or respiratory fit test requirements. Please consult the Physical Demands Project SharePoint site or contact Risk Management/Employee Health for additional information. May stand up to 90% of time. May exert up to 25lbs-push/pulling force up to 20% of working day. May utilize computer up to 50% of time. Required wearing lead apron, up to 15 lb., for 1-2 hours. Must have full range of motion in all extremities. Must be able to see and hear in order to communicate. Must be able to see, read, and write in order to perform job duties and access pt needs. Must be able to lift patients of various weights and lift loads up to 40lbs. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience in lieu of successful completion of an Allied Health postsecondary education program that is patient care related

EDUCATION:

  • Successful completion of an Allied Health postsecondary education program that is patient care related OR equivalent experience

LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:

  • ARRT-R (Radiography) OR LP (Licensed Paramedic)

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) Issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association within 90 days of hire

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) Issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association within 90 days of hire

  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English (verbal/written).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

EXPERIENCE:

  • Cardiovascular/Interventional experience.
