Caribbean Label Crafts Ltd is a member of Goddard Enterprises Limited (GEL) and operates three production facilities in Barbados, Jamaica and the Dominican Republic, offering our regional customers design services and premium quality packaging solutions that add value to their brands.

We are looking for a talented individual who shares our values to join our team as a Customs & Shipping Clerk, the key responsibilities of which are:

  • Coordinating the logistics and documentation for export shipments to ensure timely and cost-effective deliveries
  • Following up with freight forwarders and cargo carriers regarding any billing and shipping issues
  • Assisting the Estimator with freight quotations
  • Compiling the month-end Marine Insurance Report for the Company’s insurer
  • Compiling the Freight Outstanding Report
  • Maintaining an up-to-date filing system for import and export documentation
  • Coordinating the movement of incoming goods from suppliers including customs documentation, tracking freight, ensuring all duties, freight and other charges related to the importation of all shipments are paid to minimize delays and storage or demurrage charges.
  • Arranging the transport of goods from port to warehouse and opening of containers on site
  • Costing the value of goods in each shipment
  • Reporting items received short or damaged to the Accounts Department

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Passes in at least four (4) CXC subjects including English and Mathematics
  • Certificate in Customs Procedures OR five years' experience in Shipping/Customs Brokerage
  • Meticulous with strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • The ability to work well under pressure and time constraints.
  • Detail oriented with good organizational skills
  • Self-motivated with a good work ethic
  • The ability to use initiative and multitask
  • Computer literate
  • Valid driver’s licence would be an asset
