Mandate:
Reporting to the Brokerage Manager, the Customs Rater will be responsible for handling documentation received from Importers, Freight Forwarders, Airlines, and Transports which must be verified and entered into the Delmar system. Previously opened files may need to be updated, or new files will need to be created. The candidate will be responsible to request documents from importers to complete files, as well as interact with our customs and freight departments to provide outstanding service to Delmar’s clients.
Requirements:
• 1-2 years of experience in customs and transportation
• Experience in dealing with local and national brokerage procedures and knowledge of customs regulations
• Working knowledge of customs import regulations, freight forwarding and processes as well as H.S. tariff classification
• Shift flexibility (varied work schedule)
