Position Purpose
The Customs Compliance Specialist is responsible for the oversight and execution of customs and international trade compliance activities to ensure adherence to all applicable import and export regulations. This role serves as a subject matter expert on U.S. Customs compliance, tariff classification, trade agreements, customs valuation, and regulatory requirements.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities & Key Accountabilities
• Ensure compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations and other applicable government agency requirements.
• Manage and maintain Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classifications and country-of-origin determinations.
• Support customs valuation processes and ensure accurate declaration of imported merchandise.
• Administer and maintain compliance with USMCA and other applicable Free Trade Agreements.
• Coordinate with customs brokers, freight forwarders, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
• Conduct periodic internal audits of customs documentation and declarations.
• Monitor changes in trade regulations and communicate impacts to the business.
• Provide guidance and training regarding trade compliance requirements
• Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, International Business, Logistics, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of four (4) years of experience in customs compliance, international trade, import/export operations, or a related field.
• Demonstrated knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations, import/export procedures, and trade compliance requirements.
• Must pass any drug screens, background checks, and any pre-employment tests, which will be conducted in accordance with applicable law.
Preferred Qualifications
• Licensed U.S. Customs Broker (LCB).
• Certified Customs Specialist (CCS).
• Certified Global Business Professional (CGBP).
• Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP and customs management software.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Competencies
• Strong knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations and international trade compliance requirements.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally as business needs require.
Job Conditions
• Both office environment and occasionally manufacturing/factory environment.
