Job Purpose

The Customer Systems Analyst supports the Customer Enablement team in ensuring accurate and timely billing for MGE customers. This role performs data validation, reconciliations, and basic reporting while developing proficiency in MGE’s billing systems, tools, and processes. Working under guidance from more experienced analysts, this position builds foundational knowledge in billing operations, data integrity, and customer impact.

Core Responsibilities

• Perform basic data validation and reconciliation to support billing accuracy.
• Research and resolve routine billing discrepancies under direction of senior analysts.
• Prepare and maintain reports and documentation to track billing activities and metrics.
• Assist in system testing, data clean-up, and process documentation.
• Learn and apply billing systems, data tools, and standard operating procedures.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure consistent customer service and compliance.

• Foundational knowledge of Excel and data management principles.
• Basic understanding of billing or financial operations.

• Ability to leverage AI tools to support analysis and improve functional work processes.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, data analytics, or related field preferred.
• 0–2 years of experience in billing, data analysis, or finance environment.
• Utility or regulated industry experience a plus.

Work Location

• This hybrid role is based at our Madison, WI headquarters and will require a mix of office and field work. While three days onsite is the minimum, team collaboration and business needs may require additional in-office presence.

Pre-employment will require satisfactory completion of a background check and drug screen.
