Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst with a strong background in Capital Markets, Commercial Banking, or Personal Banking to support the delivery of large-scale business and technology initiatives. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional partners — including strategy, product, analytics, and operations teams — to define requirements, drive segment strategy, and ensure that solutions align with business growth objectives.

This role is ideal for a proactive, detail-oriented professional who excels in structured environments and is comfortable working with customer data, segmentation strategies, and enterprise growth initiatives within the financial services sector.

Location: Toronto, ON (Onsite – 5 days in office)
Contract Length: 24 Months (Extension or FTE Conversion Possible)
Hours: 9 AM–5 PM EST

Pay: CAD: 43.52 on T4 / CAD $50 on IC


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Elicit, document, and validate business, functional, and strategic requirements through stakeholder engagement and analysis.
  • Translate business and customer growth objectives into actionable deliverables for cross-functional teams.
  • Conduct customer segmentation analysis, process mapping, and gap assessments to support strategy development and execution.
  • Develop and maintain business requirements documents (BRDs), user stories, and strategic frameworks aligned to growth initiatives.
  • Collaborate with product, analytics, marketing, and operations teams to ensure successful implementation and execution of initiatives.
  • Support testing and validation activities by defining use cases, reviewing outcomes, and coordinating improvements.
  • Identify, assess, and manage risks, dependencies, and change impacts across initiatives and programs.
  • Prepare clear, concise documentation and executive-level reports including business cases, strategy decks, and performance insights.
  • Maintain data integrity and ensure alignment with enterprise governance and regulatory standards.
  • Drive alignment across stakeholders to support delivery of segment strategies across acquisition, engagement, retention, and customer lifetime value.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • 7–8 years of progressive business analysis, strategy, or consulting experience, preferably within financial services or banking.
  • Proven experience delivering initiatives in at least one of the following domains:
  • Capital Markets: Customer analytics, product strategy, or growth initiatives.
  • Commercial Banking: Customer segmentation, onboarding strategies, or portfolio growth.
  • Personal Banking: Retail banking products, customer lifecycle strategy, or acquisition and retention initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of SDLC methodologies (Agile and/or Waterfall).
  • Demonstrated ability to work with customer data, analytics, and reporting tools to support decision-making and strategy execution.
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, JIRA, Confluence, Power BI, or similar tools.
  • Excellent analytical, documentation, and communication skills, including executive-level storytelling.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment with minimal supervision.

Preferred

  • Experience in large enterprise or regulated financial institutions.
  • Experience in customer strategy, segmentation, or growth-focused roles.
  • Strong understanding of customer economics, lifecycle management, and performance analytics.
  • Experience building business cases, strategic roadmaps, and executive presentations.
  • MBA or Master’s degree in Business, Finance, or related discipline.

Education
Post-secondary degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related discipline.
