At this time, Ericsson Canada Inc. does not provide immigration assistance/sponsorship now or in the future for this position.

About this opportunity:

We are looking for a RAN Solutions Manager to drive the evolution and adoption of Ericsson’s high‑performing 4G/5G (and future 6G) RAN portfolio with our customers. In this role, you will combine deep RAN domain expertise with customer‑facing leadership to shape winning solutions across purpose‑built RAN, Cloud RAN and Open RAN, including intelligent RAN automation and AI‑driven capabilities.

You will be a key interface between customers, Customer Units/Market Areas, Product Management and R&D, translating customer needs and market insights into concrete solution roadmaps and value propositions that strengthen Ericsson’s position and enable profitable growth.

What you will do:

  • Own the RAN solution strategy for selected customers/markets, aligning customer requirements, network evolution plans and Ericsson portfolio capabilities (RAN, Cloud RAN, Open RAN, RAN automation, transport and core touchpoints).
  • Lead end‑to‑end RAN solutioning in key opportunities (from 3–5 year network evolution roadmaps to specific RFx responses), ensuring technical soundness, competitiveness, TCO advantages and clear value argumentation.
  • Drive customer engagements: run technical/commercial workshops, and solution deep‑dives to position Ericsson as the preferred RAN partner.
  • Shape proposals and business cases in close collaboration with Account, Commercial Management and Finance, ensuring RAN solutions meet performance, cost, energy efficiency and time‑to‑market targets.
  • Champion Cloud RAN and Open RAN journeys with customers, including migration scenarios, reference architectures, ecosystem options and risk/benefit trade‑offs.
  • Interface with Product Management and R&D to feed back prioritized customer requirements, competitive insights and field learnings into the global portfolio and roadmap.
  • Guide pre‑sales and supporting solution teams (Solution Architects, Technical Sales, NDO/Optimization) to ensure consistency and quality across all RAN solution deliverables for your customers.
  • Support trials, PoCs and benchmarks (drive solution design, success criteria, test scope and value demonstration) for new RAN capabilities (e.g. Massive MIMO, AI RAN, RAN automation, Cloud RAN).
  • Monitor market and competitor developments in RAN (technology, architectures, commercial constructs) and turn insights into concrete actions for your CU/MA.

The skills you bring:

  • University degree in Electrical/Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent; a postgraduate degree is a plus.
  • 8+ years of experience in RAN / Radio / Mobile Networks, with at least 3–5 years in solution management, pre‑sales, technical sales support or solution architecture roles.
  • Proven track record of leading complex RAN solutions in customer engagements (e.g. network modernization, 5G roll‑outs, Cloud RAN/Open RAN, RAN optimization or swap programs).
  • Prior hands‑on experience as a RAN Solution Architect in network performance optimization, integration, new product introduction (NPI) or R&D is preferred.
  • Solid understanding of 4G/5G RAN architectures, 3GPP standards, Massive MIMO, spectrum strategies, RAN capacity/coverage dimensioning and KPI frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of RAN hardware (radios, Massive MIMO, basebands/RAN compute, fronthaul, site solutions), including their performance, energy and TCO characteristics, and the ability to have detailed technical discussions about hardware options and trade‑offs with both customers and Ericsson Product Development Units.
  • Good knowledge of Cloud RAN, virtualization/cloud‑native concepts, Open RAN (O‑RAN interfaces A1/O1/O2, Open Fronthaul), and RAN automation / AI‑driven features.
  • Good understanding of network performance drivers and RAN software features, including scheduling, interference management, mobility, energy‑saving features and advanced 5G/5G‑Advanced capabilities, and how to apply them to meet customer KPIs.
  • Good understanding of RAN security, robustness and resiliency, including secure configuration and management, protection against signaling/traffic storms and DoS, and high‑availability design in multi‑site and cloud/virtualized deployments.
  • Ability to discuss end‑to‑end (RAN–Transport–Core–OSS/BSS) at solution level.
  • Strong customer‑facing presence and storytelling skills; able to translate complex technical topics into clear value for CTO, CXO and operational stakeholders.
  • Experience building and defending TCO/ROI business cases and competitive value argumentation.
  • Structured and analytical with the ability to prioritize and make fact‑based decisions under time pressure.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑functional virtual teams across Sales, Service Delivery, Product Management and R&D.
  • Comfortable working in global, multicultural environments and navigating multiple stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with Lean & Agile ways of working and a continuous‑improvement mindset.
  • AI‑Embedded expectation: You are comfortable using AI‑powered tools and workflows (e.g. coding/authoring assistants, search and summarization copilots, analytics and modeling helpers) in your daily work, and you actively
