This position is based on a 40-hour work week with an hourly pay rate of $18.41 - $23.38.

This position is part of the Public Employees Union (PEU), working at the Utilities Building located at 1900 2nd Avenue North, Lake Worth, FL 33461.

Under close supervision, performs a variety of complex administrative duties associated with City issued licenses and permits; and performs related duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Receives and reviews license and permit applications and revisions.
• Inputs license and permit applications, revisions, certificates of insurance, and fee payments to computer system.
• Issues licenses and permits, collects fees and reimburses denied applicants.
• Maintains records associated with license and permit applications, fee payments and violations.
• Assists in monitoring license applications, contractor registrations, zoning and vehicle­ for-hire inspections.
• Assists in preparing correspondence contract documents and federal and state performance and fiscal reports.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Position involves sedentary to light work in an office setting.
• There is frequent need to stand, stoop, walk, sit, lift light objects (up to 10 pounds) and perform other similar actions during the course of the workday.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

High School diploma or GED and one (1) year of administrative or clerical experience including customer service experience or any equivalent combination of training and experience.

Upon achievement of Permit Technician certification from the ICC, employee will be eligible for a 5% education incentive.

All full-time employees are considered critical in response to emergency situations and may be deemed essential as needed depending on the situation.

Employees in this position will be required to complete the FEMA Incident Command System (ICS) Certification Levels 100, 200 and 700 (559 is optional) within the first six months of employment. Certain positions may be required to attain additional ICS training as needed.
