Position Description

  • Shift work – 24/7 (will include weekends and public holidays)
  • Fixed term contract 40 hours/fortnight
  • Starting October 2026 to April 2027
  • Picton Terminal

He whakamārama mo te tūranga mahi | About the role:

Hours of work will be 9.30 am to 2.30 pm, seven days on, seven day off (will include weekends and public holidays)

We have great summer opportunities for motivated Customer Service Specialists to join our team on a part-time, fixed-term basis, looking after our Interislander and Scenic Train passengers and their luggage.

You will also:

  • Coordinate passengers and their bookings
  • Assist with ticketing and check-in services for both passengers, their vehicles and commercial vehicles
  • Ensure passenger’s luggage is well looked after and properly labelled
  • Provide general travel advice and information to our passengers

We are looking for people with exceptional customer service skills and a can-do attitude who are passionate about the service they deliver.

  • Be able to think on your feet in a fast-paced environment
  • Have a strong customer focus with the ability to relate to people at all levels
  • Have a sense of urgency and work with speed and accuracy
  • Be a great problem solver
  • Maintain your composure and help keep passengers calm in high stress situations
  • Have impeccable attention to detail and a talent for multi-tasking
  • Have exemplary communication and interpersonal skills
  • Have a moderate level of physical fitness as lifting of passenger's luggage is required
