The City of Eustis is seeking a trustworthy, responsible individual who, under direct supervision, performs entry-level clerical and cashiering work involving the receipt of city utility payments and other miscellaneous payments. Employee provides assistance and explanation to general billing and consumption inquiries through applied customer service skills. Work policies and procedures are specific and well established; however, work may be performed with some independence once experience is gained.

Knowledge of basic cashiering methods and procedures; knowledge of business mathematics; knowledge of modern office practices and procedures; basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook.
Ability to work well with others and assist the public cooperatively and courteously; ability to work calmly and professionally, in a fast-paced environment; ability to process transactions quickly and accurately; ability to research and compile information and maintain accurate records; ability to carry out assignments with minimum instructions; ability to read and write English; ability to remain at a city work shelter, before, during, and after a hurricane or other storm or disaster, if asked.
High School Diploma or recognized equivalent; supplemented by two (2) years of cashiering and/or customer service experience, with a demonstrated ability to read/write English and perform math calculations accurately and quickly. Other related experience may be considered.
Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
This is primarily sedentary work. Requires sitting for long periods of time; reaching and bending; good finger/hand dexterity and hand/eye coordination; good eyesight, hearing, and speech.
$17.5168 per hour ($36,434.84 per year); EXCELLENT benefits (Note: See Benefits Tab for more information). Applicants should expect a starting salary of $17.5168 per hour. Additional consideration may be given to applicants with more extensive education, training, or experience. Final candidates will be subject to skills testing, including money handling, customer service, and typing (minimum 35 CWPM). Following a thorough background investigation, including a criminal history and driver’s license check, the candidate will be given a conditional offer of employment.

Through this project, the City worked with the local businesses and other partnership organizations to ensure continued business activity and communication.
More recently, the City completed a $6.5 million stormwater project providing for increased property value and higher density in the downtown.
