Job Description

At The Y Bankstown City, no two days are the same. You’ll welcome a diverse community enjoying gymnastics programs, school holiday activities, community programs and events, all within a vibrant, family-focused centre designed to connect people of all ages.

From supporting parents and children through enrolments to helping members navigate programs and facilities, you’ll play a key role in creating a warm, inclusive experience at the front desk.

Centre Opening Hours:

  • Monday – Friday: 9:00am – 8:00pm
  • Saturday: 8:00am – 2:00pm
  • Sunday: 9:00am – 10:30am

As a Customer Service Officer, you’ll be the first point of contact for our members and visitors—creating positive experiences every day at the front desk and over the phone.

✅ What you’ll be doing

  • Greet and assist customers in person and over the phone
  • Respond to enquiries about programs, bookings and memberships
  • Support front desk operations and daily centre activities
  • Process POS transactions and handle cash accurately
  • Respond to feedback and resolve issues professionally
  • Help maintain a safe, inclusive and welcoming environment

  • Friendly, approachable and customer‑focused attitude
  • Experience in customer service, reception or administration
  • Strong communication and people skills
  • Ability to multitask in a busy, community‑focused environment
  • Basic computer skills
  • CPR / First Aid (or willingness to obtain)
  • NSW Working With Children Check
  • Commitment to safeguarding children and young people, including compliance with all relevant policies and procedures
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends (as required)

About The Royal Children's Hospital

The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) has been providing outstanding care for Victoria's children and their families for over 147 years.

We are the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria and our care extends to children from Tasmania, southern New South Wales and other states around Australia and overseas.

With a passionate, highly skilled and committed staff campus wide of over 5,000, we provide a full range of clinical services, tertiary care and health promotion and prevention programs for children and young people.

We are the designated state-wide major trauma centre for paediatrics in Victoria and a Nationally Funded Centre for cardiac and liver transplantation.

When it comes to training and research we partner with the very best. Our campus partners, the Murdoch Childrens Research Institute (MCRI) and The University of Melbourne Department of Paediatrics, along with the RCH Foundation, are on site with the hospital in Parkville.
