What to expect?

As a Customer Service Engineer, you will act as the primary contact for our customers, providing technical support on our cloud solutions designed to monitor renewable energy assets.

The position will report to our DNV office in Mexico City, Mexico.

What You'll Do

  • Managing and prioritizing customer requests related to networking, dataloggers, field devices and communication issues, providing support via email, phone and the ticketing system (Zendesk)
  • Providing technical assistance for GreenPowerMonitor’s SCADA solutions, including diagnosis and troubleshooting of hardware, networking and communication problems in PV, BESS and hybrid energy systems
  • Supporting the configuration, commissioning and operation of GPM’s Power Plant Controller (PPC) and onsite SCADA installations.
  • Implementing project modifications based on customer requirements, such as control logic updates, hardware adjustments, PPC migrations and configuration changes
  • Creating and updating electrical diagrams and single‑line drawings (AutoCAD) for plant layouts, network designs and device integrations.
  • Managing internal documentation and contributing to technical guides, procedures and knowledge‑base materials
  • Assisting customers and field teams remotely during installation and commissioning activities, including network design, equipment selection, system setup and testing
  • Identifying issues and proposing improvements to support Quality processes and enhance internal workflows and tools

What Is Required

  • To thrive and succeed, we expect you to have:
    • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Industrial Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Engineering, or related field
    • 3+ years of experience in a customer‑facing technical role (Helpdesk, Technical Support, Customer Success, Customer Service) or hands-on experience providing technical assistance for industrial/energy systems
    • A proven track record of managing customer relationships and handling technical requests through ticketing tools (e.g., Zendesk, JIRA, ServiceNow)
    • Experience supporting SCADA, industrial automation or remote monitoring systems, preferably within the energy sector.
    • Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, routing, switching, VPNs) and experience in troubleshooting communication issues
    • Experience diagnosing hardware and communication interfaces (Ethernet, RS485, converters, gateways)
    • Familiarity with industrial communication protocols such as Modbus (RTU/TCP), IEC‑104, OPC or similar
    • Strong written and verbal English communication skills

    • Knowledge in renewable energy (Solar, Wind, and/or Storage)
    • Proven experience working on communication networks and dataloggers
    • Industrial communication protocols (Modbus, IEC104, OPC, DNP3)
    • Knowledge of Linux operating system
    • Knowledge and experience working with Power Plant Controller (PPC) in solar plants
