Job Description

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Slough to assist with the appointment of a Customer Service Advisor, on a 6-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay £13.97 - £18.25 per hour

The Customer Service Advisor act as the first point of contact for learners, staff, partners, and members of the public, delivering high-quality customer service while providing administrative and business support across the service. This role involves supporting learner enrolment, maintaining accurate records, promoting learning opportunities, and contributing to projects that enhance the delivery of community learning services.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the first point of contact for all Lifelong Learning enquiries via telephone, email, letter, and face-to-face communication.
  • Provide accurate information and advice on available learning opportunities and signpost learners to appropriate services where required.
  • Deliver reception services at designated learning centres, creating a welcoming environment for learners and visitors.
  • Support the learner enrolment process, including assisting with forms, collecting fees, issuing receipts, and maintaining accurate records on the Management Information System (MIS).
  • Maintain electronic and paper-based records while ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Operate a range of IT systems and Microsoft Office applications to support daily administrative functions.

Qualification:

  • 5 GCSEs (Grade A-C/9-4) or equivalent qualification.

Essentials

  • Experience working in a customer service environment.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Experience working within a team environment.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills, both face-to-face and over the telephone.
  • Strong literacy, numeracy, and IT skills.
