Job Description

Position: Customer Sales & Service Representative

Location: Saskatoon, Saskatchewan

Reports to: Team Leader

Status: Non-Exempt

of the Role

The function of the Customer Sales and Service Representative is to provide direct support to the Branch Managers and Sales Representatives in the ongoing development of existing and prospective LGG Industrial customers to ensure that the Branch is able to meet its growth targets.

Responsibilities

  • Must maintain 100% commitment to safety policies and procedures
  • Partners with Sales Representatives to provide sales quotes
  • Processes incoming inquiries into company sales system
  • Quotes customers using working knowledge of product
  • Successfully achieves budgeted Branch sales goals
  • Assists A/R personnel in creating and establishing new accounts and follows up on collections
  • Coordinates with Sales Representatives and Branch management to keep account activities updated
  • Monitors delivery date commitments and expedites where appropriate
  • Monitors customer specific inventory for sales order fulfillment
  • Builds and maintains strong internal and external relationships
  • Provides technical/service support to account management, branch management and internal and external customers
  • Perform other duties as trained and qualified for

  • Moderate computer skills including MS Word, Excel, internet, customer portals and email
  • Must be able to successfully utilize the company software

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year Business to Business Customer Service Experience
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Moderate computer skills including MS Word, Excel, internet, customer portals and email
  • Ability to perform basic math
  • Reliable transportation is a must
  • Ability to work nights and weekends, as required
  • Ability to work overtime, as required
  • Background checks and drug screening may be required (by Company, Customer or DOT requirements in working on-site and operating equipment as required or permitted by law)

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of customer service experience in industrial distribution
  • Previous experience utilizing an ERP system
  • Product knowledge in hose, gasket and conveyor systems a plus

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

This position is primarily based in an office environment but may occasionally require visits to the warehouse for order-related follow-ups. The warehouse environment may include fluctuating temperatures (both hot and cold), varying noise levels, exposure to dust, and other typical elements of an active industrial environment.   • Ability to work in varying environmental conditions, including exposure to temperature changes, dust, and warehouse noise.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), such as gloves, safety glasses, steel-toed footwear, hearing protection, or hard hats when required.
