Job Description

About the role:

As Customer Quality & Quality in Design (QID) Manager, you ensure that quality and customer requirements are embedded into our products, processes and factory design from the very beginning. You play a key role in translating customer expectations into robust factory execution while driving continuous improvement and customer satisfaction at site level.
You act as the link between customers, engineering, CI&TS, sales and plant operations, ensuring that customer feedback, complaints and quality requirements are handled effectively and built into new product introductions and transfers.

Key responsibilities:

  • Monitor and analyze customer feedback, complaints and quality KPIs to identify trends and improvement areas.
  • Support Customer Care with input and feedback to resolve customer cases and complaints.
  • Act as the factory point of contact for customer quality topics and expectations.
  • Participate in customer audits and drive improvement actions at factory level
  • Ensure Barry Callebaut quality standards and customer requirements are integrated into new product introductions (NPI) and product transfers (PTF).
  • Collaborate with Product Development, Engineering and Project teams to translate customer needs into factory‑ready designs.
  • Participate in NPI/PTF reviews and perform quality risk assessments related to product, process, ingredients and equipment.
  • Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective actions for design‑related quality issues.
  • Review customer quality performance and present findings to factory management.
  • Lead or support customer‑driven quality improvement projects.
  • Act as Quality Culture advocate, promoting customer focus, compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate closely with the QA Performance & Projects Manager on interrelated initiatives.

About you

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, Food Science, Industrial/Business Engineering
    (or Engineering degree with 5+ years experience in food quality).
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in quality, CI&TS, operations, engineering or process roles within food manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety systems including HACCP, GMP and Pathogen Environmental Monitoring.
  • Experience with GFSI standards such as FSSC 22000 or BRC (formal training required).
  • Previous exposure to customer interactions is a strong asset.
  • Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
  • Able to manage multiple projects, work under pressure and drive results in a complex factory environment.
  • Servant‑leader mindset with strong customer focus.
  • Proactive, rigorous and demanding when it comes to quality culture.
  • Team‑oriented, flexible and adaptable.
  • Confident communicator with solid influencing skills.
