Job Description

SKF Aerospace Lons-le-Saunier, a site with approximately 350 employees, specializes in the design and manufacturing of high value-added products for the aerospace industry, including complex mechanical components such as bearings and spherical bearings.

SKF Aerospace has also established a leadership position in the development of high-strength composite solutions for the aerospace and aviation sectors.

Our customers include major aerospace companies such as Airbus, Dassault, Airbus Helicopters, Boeing, and others.

We are currently looking for a:

Customer Quality Engineer (m/f/d)

Reporting to the Site Quality Manager, you will be responsible for all customer quality activities. You have the authority to stop production if product integrity is at risk and to release production once all measures required to ensure the safety and integrity of both people and products are in place.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary customer interface for customer complaints and after-sales service (returns), managing cases from registration through to final customer response.
  • Plan and support customer audits and visits.
  • Manage the analysis of identified deviations and monitor the implementation of appropriate corrective and preventive actions until all issues have been resolved.
  • Manage 8D investigations and major action plans arising from customer complaints, ensuring communication and coordination with customers.
  • Monitor investigations and direct Customer Quality cases to the relevant departments for root cause analysis and implementation of corrective and cross-functional actions (Production/TQP, Purchasing/STA, Engineering/Special Processes, Logistics, etc.).
  • Create and maintain customer specification deviation matrices for products in serial production.
  • Prepare complaint summaries and associated action plans for key customers and proactively communicate these through monthly or bi-monthly reviews.
  • Analyze recurring defects and assigned activities to capitalize on lessons learned and define long-term initiatives aimed at improving customer satisfaction.
  • Consistently contribute to continuous improvement by proposing and implementing initiatives to enhance the effectiveness of customer quality activities, particularly through lessons learned.
  • Participate in internal audits and the analysis of non-conformities.
  • Monitor KPI performance and costs related to customer quality and after-sales service activities and ensure effective internal communication.

Profile

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in customer quality, ideally within the aerospace industry.
  • Solid knowledge of problem-solving methodologies and quality tools (8D, DMAIC, Six Sigma, 5 Whys, etc.).
  • Methodical and detail-oriented with well-developed organizational skills and a collaborative mindset to effectively lead projects.
  • Well-developed analytical and problem-solving abilities with a results-driven approach.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
  • Occasional travel required.
