Corning’s Environmental Technologies segment manufactures ceramic substrates and filter products for emissions control in mobile and stationary applications around the world.

Role Purpose

Responsible for ensuring customer quality requirements are understood, communicated, and met throughout the manufacturing and delivery process. This role serves as the main quality contact for customers, addressing quality concerns, leading problem-solving activities, and coordinating corrective actions to prevent recurrence. This position works closely with manufacturing, engineering, supply chain, and sales teams to drive improvements that reduce defects, improve response time, and strengthen customer confidence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supports both Customer Quality and Measurement Quality by managing production specifications, inspection processes, and customer-specific requirements to ensure manufacturing aligns with quality standards.
  • Partners with engineering, operations, and product teams on new products, PPAP documentation, audits, customer visits, and corrective actions to maintain compliance and resolve quality issues.
  • Brings expertise in QMS, PQA, ISO 9001, IATF 16949, CAPA, MOC, and document control, while helping ensure customer and plant quality requirements are consistently met.
  • Leads measurement quality activities including inspection and testing methods, MSA portfolio management, statistical analysis of nonconforming materials, and technical support for the ceramics lab.
  • Also supports overall plant quality efforts through audits, corrective action follow-up, coaching on quality tools and processes, and indirect team supervision.

Travel Requirements: Minimal travel should be expected / typical travel requirement is < 5%

Work Schedule: Typically, 8 AM – 5 PM Monday – Friday, some flex time is possible to support project assignments

Experiences/Education - Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering required, preferably in materials, chemical, or mechanical engineering, with 7–10 years of manufacturing engineering experience including at least 5 years in quality engineering.
  • Strong background in ISO 9001, quality systems, and data-driven problem solving, with experience using tools such as Excel, MiniTab, Pi, Access, and JMP.
  • Solid statistical and analytical capability, including MSA, gage R&R, and bias studies, with Green Belt or Black Belt certification preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to work across all levels of the organization, mentor others, and make critical decisions while troubleshooting and managing to SOPs.
  • Able to drive root cause analysis, solve complex problems, understand manufacturing financial measures, and effectively manage multiple priorities across different plant areas.

The range for this position is $82,974.00 - $114,090.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
