Based in Houston, Texas, the Customer Engagement Manager serves as the primary strategic interface between customers, Emerson's North America organization, and global delivery teams for assigned Measurement Solutions projects.

In this role, you will build trusted customer relationships, influence project execution and business outcomes, drive resolution of complex challenges, and act as a key advisor throughout the project lifecycle. You will help ensure customer commitments are delivered safely, predictably, and in accordance with contractual, quality, schedule, and commercial requirements while driving continuous improvement and enhancing the customer experience.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Serve as the primary customer engagement lead for complex, high-visibility projects and strategic customer relationships.
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with customer stakeholders, providing proactive guidance and serving as a strategic advisor throughout project execution.
  • Lead customer kickoffs, executive reviews, technical and commercial alignment meetings, escalation discussions, and critical project milestone reviews.
  • Act as the central coordination point between customers, sales, project management, engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, quality, field service, finance, legal, and global delivery teams.
  • Influence project execution strategy by translating customer objectives into actionable plans, priorities, resource requirements, and measurable deliverables.
  • Drive resolution of complex project, technical, commercial, and customer issues through cross-functional leadership and collaboration.
  • Maintain visibility into project schedules, budgets, risks, quality requirements, billing milestones, customer actions, and execution performance while proactively identifying and mitigating risks.
  • Lead customer escalation management efforts, developing recovery plans, coordinating stakeholder communications, and ensuring successful resolution of critical issues.
  • Support contract execution and scope management activities, including change order identification, contract compliance, risk mitigation, claims support, and commercial issue resolution.
  • Provide guidance and recommendations that balance customer objectives, operational requirements, project risks, and business goals.
  • Coordinate and support site readiness reviews, Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs), installation activities, commissioning efforts, Site Acceptance Tests (SATs), and project closeout activities.
  • Identify trends, recurring customer issues, and process improvement opportunities; recommend and implement enhancements to customer engagement and project execution practices.
  • Establish and promote best practices for customer engagement, communication, and escalation management across the organization.
  • Mentor project teams and cross-functional stakeholders on effective customer relationship management and execution excellence.
  • Partner with sales and service organizations to identify lifecycle services, upgrades, modernization opportunities, long-term service agreements, training opportunities, and other strategic growth initiatives.
  • Represent Emerson during customer visits, executive reviews, industry events, and other critical customer-facing engagements.
  • Travel to customer, supplier, fabrication, and project sites as required.

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Project Management, or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in customer engagement, project management, program management, account management, engineered solutions, industrial automation, or related industries.
  • Demonstrated success managing complex customer-facing projects and stakeholder relationships across multiple functions and organizations.
  • Experience leading customer escalations and resolving complex business, technical, and commercial challenges.
  • Working knowledge of project scheduling, risk management, scope and change management, contracts, cost forecasting, billing milestones, quality processes, and site execution activities.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, presentation, facilitation, and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to influence and lead cross-functional teams without direct reporting authority.
  • Ability to travel as business needs require.

Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:

  • PMP, PgMP, or comparable project management certification.
  • Experience with Measurement Solutions, analytical systems, flow measurement technologies, engineered packages, lifecycle services, or industrial automation solutions.
  • Experience supporting strategic, high-value, or complex customer programs.
  • Experience working within global delivery organizations and coordinating execution across multiple regions.
  • Strong commercial acumen, including contract interpretation, change orders, claims management, margin protection, and risk mitigation.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence executive-level customer and internal stakeholders.
  • Experience mentoring project managers, customer engagement professionals, or other cross-functional team members.
  • Experience developing or implementing customer engagement, project execution, or continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Familiarity with CRM, ERP, project controls, reporting, and analytics tools.
