Customer Program ManagerThis role has been designed as ‘Hybrid’ with an expectation that you will work on average 2 days per week from an HPE office.

Professional Services Delivery – Global Competency Center is a global team of 1,000+ professionals, united by expertise, passion, and a commitment to excellence. The candidate will provide

  • Proven experience as a Project Manager or Project Lead, with solid knowledge of standard project management methodologies, including scope, schedule, effort, risk, resources, communication, and quality management
  • Must have direct project management experience with end users (not limited to subcontractor/vendor-side PM roles)
  • Experience in communicating with clients, including explaining design, solutions, and work scope, and driving alignment through effective negotiation
  • Strategic and flexible thinking, with a proactive and results-oriented mindset
  • Experience in managing projects involving Japan customers or cross-border teams is highly preferred.

Technical Expertise and Skills required

Candidates must demonstrate strong proficiency in at least one of the below technical domains. Multiple areas will be an advantage.

  • Cloud Platforms: AWS / Azure
  • Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (HCI)
  • Container Technologies (OpenShift / Kubernetes) ★
  • Virtualization Platforms (VMware / Hyper-V) ★
  • Operating Systems (Windows / Red Hat Linux)
  • Infrastructure Middleware (Job Scheduling, Monitoring, Backup)
  • Hardware (Servers / Storage)
  • Automation (Ansible)
  • Scripting (Shell, PowerShell)
  • Low-Code Application Development (e.g., Power Platform)

Candidates with strong experience in design and build phases of projects are highly preferred.

Business Skills & Language Requirements

  • Proficient in Japanese communication (JLPT N1)
  • English proficiency with a TOEIC score of 700 or above
  • Strong project management capability with the ability to drive tasks independently
  • Proven leadership skills and ability to guide team activities
  • Strong collaboration skills, working effectively across cross-functional and global teams
  • Excellent logical thinking and analytical problem-solving ability
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills
  • Demonstrated problem-solving mindset in complex project environments
  • Experience as a Bridge System Engineer (BSE), coordinating with offshore development teams
