Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Purpose of Position

- Responsible for developing and communicating demand requirements
- Develop capacity plans and manage inventory & purchasing strategies to ensure optimum material utilization.
- Build up and manage the Sales and Operating Plan (S&OP) process if necessary.
- Optimizing inventory level and ensuring production continuity.
- Manage and follow up new projects in plant for better execution.

Day to Day Responsibility

- Work closely with global SCM/PLM to understand the demand visibility and Order placement requirements.
- Collaborate with sales, business development, product line management team to develop and maintain accurate rolling forecast in terms of driving procurement activities..
- Monitor and analyze demand trend to adjust forecast and plans proactively.
- Assess reasonable delivery dates in the system daily based on customer demand dates, material availability, and production capacity
- Create purchase requisitions based on actual order demand and forecast to ensure material readiness for production
- Work with production planner to ensure the production schedule is aligned with customer requirements.
- Proactively identify potential material shortage and develop mitigation plan to prevent production disruptions.
- Develop and maintain KPI for inventory turns, lead time performance and slow moving mitigation plan
- Support on other optimization projects or initiatives.

Education & Experience

- Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, computer science, purchasing management or relevant field.
- 5years working experience in a planning role within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong experience using an SAP system

- Know EHS relevant law and regulations
- Obey all company EHS rules (Include: Policy, Procedure, SOP and other requirements).

Required skills:
- Working experience in ERP system, SAP or other systems.
- High sense of responsibility and initiatives, self-motivated, good team player and the ability to work with a wide cross-section of people in various locations.
- Fluent oral and written English and mandarin
- Computer skills, Word, Excel and PPT skills
- Good communication and negotiation skill

Desired Skills:
- Ability to think strategically and execute methodically

Soft Skills:
- Good communication and negotiation skill.
- Good understanding of culture different between different countries.
