Location: Hybrid – Hemel Hempstead

Job Length: 12 Month FTC – Full Time

Carlsberg Britvic is the largest multi-beverage supplier in the UK and is home to some of the most iconic and popular beers & soft drinks, including Carlsberg Danish Pilsner, 1664, Poretti and Brooklyn to ale favourites such as Hobgoblin and Wainwright. For soft drinks, Carlsberg Britvic’s brands include J2O, Robinsons, Tango and London Essence along with the licence rights to the Pepsi portfolio in the UK including Pepsi MAX, 7UP, poppi, Lipton Iced Tea and Rockstar Energy.

About the role:

We are now recruiting for a Customer Marketing Controller – Pureplay, VR and Portfolio to join our Off Trade Customer Marketing team. This is a key leadership role within our business, in one of the fastest growth channels and customer groups. Shaping the shopper marketing strategy and annual customer plans, while managing the end-to-end development of the total drinks portfolio plan, this will be a highly visible, strategic role with extensive stakeholder relationships focused on plan delivery and success for Carlsberg Britvic.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Define and shape the Customer Marketing strategy, delivering high-quality shopper experiences that build growth across our beer and soft drinks portfolio.
  • Own the end-to-end Customer Marketing agenda, translating long-term strategy into high-impact annual activation plans.
  • Develop and execute integrated in-store and online campaigns that increase visibility, engagement, conversion and loyalty.
  • Execute portfolio activation across all channels, ensuring activity is aligned to brand ambitions, customer priorities and commercial objectives.
  • Build effective relationships with key customers, identifying growth opportunities through retailer strategies, trading events and market insight.
  • Deliver compelling customer sell-in programmes that secure engagement and maximise the impact of key activations.
  • Measure, evaluate and optimise performance, using data and insight to continually improve effectiveness and return on investment.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams across Commercial, Brand, Category and Marketing to create joined-up, customer-centric plans.
  • Deliver impactful trade engagement through customer events, communications, PR and external-facing initiatives.
  • Inspire, coach and develop a collaborative Customer Marketing team, promoting a culture of quality, collaboration and continuous improvement.

Experience and Key Attributes:

  • Extensive Customer Marketing experience, with the ability to develop and execute customer-led strategies that increase commercial growth and shopper engagement.
  • Demonstrated results in bringing brand, innovation and portfolio initiatives to life across key customers and channels.
  • Experience delivering customer marketing programmes across a diverse customer base within an evolving FMCG or consumer-focused environment.
  • Well-developed commercial acumen and category understanding, with the ability to identify opportunities and translate insight into action.
  • Clear strategic direction, including the ability to develop annual customer plans and coordinate cross-functional teams for effective delivery.
  • Experienced in project planning and execution, with a methodical approach to setting priorities and delivering outcomes.
  • Highly effective communicator and influencer, able to build trusted relationships, challenge constructively and secure buy-in at all levels internally and externally.
  • Established leadership capability, with experience developing effective teams and building a culture of growth, accountability and collaboration.
  • Solid financial and budget management skills, ensuring investment decisions deliver maximum return and commercial impact.
