About you and this role

At Dow, we are partnering with some of the world's leading brands to solve complex business challenges through innovation, sustainability, and materials science. As a global leader in Packaging & Specialty Plastics (P&SP), we help customers navigate evolving consumer demands, sustainability ambitions, and regulatory requirements while driving growth and competitive advantage.

We are currently looking for a Customer Manager to join our commercial team in Milan, Italy.

This role offers the opportunity to lead customer growth initiatives, build strategic partnerships, and help shape the future of sustainable materials solutions for some of the industry's most recognized brands.

Whether your background comes from chemicals, advanced materials, plastics, packaging, engineering solutions, or business administration, we are interested in individuals who combine commercial drive with technical understanding.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow a portfolio of existing customers while developing new business opportunities.
  • Build and develop trusted customer partnerships through proactive relationship management, including regular face-to-face interactions and customer visits.
  • Identify growth opportunities within target market segments.
  • Develop and execute territory and account plans aligned with business objectives.
  • Collaborate with Technical Service & Development, Marketing, Product Management and Supply Chain teams.
  • Support commercial negotiations and pricing discussions.
  • Drive sales pipeline activities and opportunity management.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Business, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Polymer Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 5 years of experience in sales, account management, business development, technical sales, application engineering, or customer-facing commercial roles.
  • Knowledge of commercial sales processes and opportunity pipeline management.
  • Strong English, French and Italian communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel internationally (mainly Italy and France).

Pay Transparency Verbiage

The below salary range is specific to this role in the following location: Milan, Italy.

Annualized: 57.820 – 102.900 EUR

This role may be based in multiple locations; salary ranges may vary by location or country to ensure market relevance.

Final pay is determined with consideration of relevant experience, depth of expertise, and skills. Where required by law, alternate location‑specific ranges will be communicated prior to the interview.
