At Maersk, we believe in connecting and simplifying trade to help our customers grow and succeed. As part of our Customs team, you’ll play an important role in ensuring that export shipments move smoothly, efficiently, and in full compliance with Egyptian customs and trade regulations.

We are looking for a Customer Experience Agent to manage end-to-end export customs clearance activities in Egypt. This role will work closely with customers, customs authorities, ports, shipping lines, and internal teams to ensure accurate documentation, timely clearance, and a seamless export experience.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Manage export documentation: Prepare, review, and submit export documentation, including Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists, Certificates of Origin, Bills of Lading/Air Waybills, permits, and other required documents.
• Handle customs declarations: Create and verify export customs declarations, ensuring the accuracy of HS codes, customs values, country of origin, and applicable tariffs.
• Manage NAFEZA/UCR processes: Handle UCR registration, document validation, submissions, and follow-up on approval status.
• Coordinate with authorities: Liaise with Egyptian Customs, port and airport authorities, inspection teams, and other relevant stakeholders to facilitate smooth and timely clearance.
• Ensure compliance: Support compliance with Egyptian Customs Law, applicable trade regulations, and Maersk/global customs procedures and standards.
• Resolve clearance issues: Investigate and address discrepancies, missing documentation, valuation queries, inspection findings, and other customs-related issues.
• Maintain accurate records: Ensure electronic records of declarations, approvals, customs documentation, and shipment releases are complete and up to date.
• Keep customers informed: Provide timely and accurate updates regarding customs status, documentation requirements, clearance progress, and cargo release.
• Collaborate internally: Work closely with Operations, Finance, Documentation, and other relevant teams to ensure an efficient end-to-end workflow.
• Stay up to date: Monitor changes in Egyptian customs regulations, HS classification, NAFEZA/UCR requirements, and export procedures.

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 0–2 years of experience in export customs clearance, freight forwarding, logistics, or a related area.
• Good understanding of shipping and logistics operations, including sea and air freight.
• Strong attention to detail with a clear focus on compliance and accuracy.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage strict cut-off times and deadlines.
• Very good command of English; fluency in Arabic is required.
• Good knowledge of MS Office and strong documentation skills.
