Department Overview
In PG&E’s Commercial Growth Organization (CGO) the Electrification, Decarbonization, and Mobility team is responsible for administering a portfolio of customer programs including building electrification, energy efficiency and transportation electrification programs that help PG&E customers in Northern and Central California manage the energy use of their homes and businesses. PG&E has been a national leader in energy efficiency since 1976 and continues to recruit and develop individuals to carry the Department’s legacy of effective building electrification and energy efficiency programs into the future.
Within the Electrification, Decarbonization, and Mobility organization, the Building Electrification (BE) and Energy Efficiency (EE) Programs team includes the Quality Control and Communications (QC&C) team, a dynamic and critical organization which ensures the quality of our energy efficiency incentive programs, maintains a productive relationship with regulators, and supports communication with internal and external stakeholders. The QC&C Custom and SEM team reviews incentive applications for Custom and SEM programs, develops strategies for energy savings calculation methods, and performs savings analysis for maximum impact. The team collaborates with regulators and stakeholders regarding strategy and policy to grow customer participation and ensures compliance with regulatory and PG&E requirements. The team works closely with program implementers, internal/external stakeholders, and California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) staff to manage the overall quality of BE and EE projects that leverage Custom and SEM approaches.
Positi on Summary
The successful candidate will be a part of a team of four-to-six engineers responsible for Energy Efficiency incentive programs’ quality control.
Specifically, the team is responsible for communicating the Custom and SEM policies and methods to the relevant stakeholders including program implementers, portfolio managers, external engineering firms, and PG&E customer account managers within the Business Energy Solutions team. The team has significant interaction with CPUC Staff to manage the ex-antereview process of projects and advocate for improvements to EE policy and guidelines. The team also supports other QC&C initiatives, as needed.
This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location on average between 0-3 days per week or as business needs require. The preferred work location is Oakland, CA. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory and agreed upon between the hiring leader and successful candidate.
PG&E is providing the full salary/pay range for this position. The actual amount paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, internal equity, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, and geographic location. The range to reasonably expect will be between the minimum to the midpoint of the range. The final decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to the factors above. This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.
