Customer Business Manager

Full time

Derby / Hybrid - 3 days on-site

Why Rolls-Royce?

We are recruiting for an exciting and unique opportunity within the Civil Aerospace Customer and Business Development team for a Customer Business Manager (Level C).

This is a fantastic role for an enthusiastic, business focused individual to join our high performing team and an ideal opportunity for someone to spend time at the forefront of our business. As a key interface representing the Customer business across the enterprise, this position performs a key influencing and supporting role to the leadership team as well as working directly for the Civil Aerospace Chief Customer Officer across many key issues in the Customer and Business Development Team.

The team is globally based and leads the engagement with our airline and aircraft manufacturer customers; we work closely with all the Civil Aerospace divisions and lead all Sales, Marketing, Commercial and Account Management discussions with the airlines as well as developing future services and our strategy with our aircraft manufacturer customers.

We are looking for someone with the drive and ability to develop a good understanding of the Customer and Business Development Team organisation and proactively seek improvements.

Customer experience is not a pre-requisite, you will need a passion and drive to learn and add value as well as excellent communication skills.

Work with us and we’ll welcome you into an inclusive culture, one that invests in your continuous learning and development, and gives you access to a wide breadth and depth of experience. We offer excellent development, a competitive salary and exceptional benefits. These include bonus, employee support assistance and employee discounts.

Your needs are as unique as you are. Hybrid working is a way in which our people can balance their time between the office, home or another remote location. It’s a locally managed and flexed informal discretionary arrangement. As a minimum we’re all expected to attend the workplace for collaboration and other specific reasons, on average three days per week. Discover more on our GBS Service Portal about hybrid working.

What you will be doing:

  • Work closely with the Chief Customer Officer on priorities ranging from improvement activities, business communications, team engagement plus any key issues as they arise.
  • Manage business priorities in conjunction with business sponsors and reporting KPIs across all levels of leadership.
  • Responsible for coordinating and developing commercial excellence initiatives to drive business growth and profitability across the whole team. Distilling complex narratives into simple, meaningful communications to engage and align senior leadership, maximising strategic decision making.
  • Coordination with other Civil Aerospace and Group Divisions on key topics affecting customers and commercial optimisation.
  • Manage Customer and Business Development Leadership Team governance and key meetings for Strategy, Performance and Change topics.
  • Be the eyes and ears of the Chief Customer Officer within the Customer Team and Business Development Team.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for an individual who demonstrates all of our leadership expectations, is able to positively influence and collaborate across all levels of leadership with a keen interest in learning about the Customer and Business Development space:

  • Customer centric and interpersonal-savvy, able to maintain strong stakeholder relationships.
  • Keen to learn about the Customer and Business Development Team and support and contribute to what the team delivers.
  • The ability to work within ambiguous, fast paced environments and the ability to create clarity for others where ambiguity exists.
  • Strong customer orientation and influencing skills.
  • Strong communicator, able to read situations and act accordingly with excellent presentation skills (oral and written) to a variety of audiences.
  • Ability to engage our teams and functions as a team player and project leader.
  • A self-starter who is willing to take the time to develop the depth and breadth of experience required.

Regional Benefits:

  • Generous Annual Leave
  • Retirement Savings through the Rolls-Royce Retirement Savings Trust
  • Group Life Assurance provides for a lump sum benefit if you die whilst employed by Rolls-Royce
  • Group Income Protection provides an income in the event that you are unable to work due to illness or injury
