
This position will be responsible for executing Protection and Control Engineering and Consulting services for Transmission, Distribution and Industrial customers. Reporting through the Grid Automation Global Engineering and Consulting Center of Excellence manager, the Power System Protection and Control Engineer will be part of the global Center of Excellence (CoE) team. Main activity will include electrical studies, like protection coordination, arc flash studies and transient studies. Additional activities can include designing, programming and testing protection and control related applications for power system design and substation automation projects.

Required Qualifications
B.S (Masters or higher is preferred) in Electrical, Computer or Power Systems Engineering with very good understanding of power system applications and analysis.
Knowledge of power system protection relays, automation, control and communication protocols.
Knowledge of power system phenomena in transmission & distribution systems.
Ethical and professional business manner in interaction with team members and customers.
Technical skills to execute projects, identify opportunities, and write SOW proposals.
Strong learning skills.
Desired Characteristics
Working experience with study software and power system tools such as ETAP, PSCAD, Power Factory, Mathcad, MATLAB, PSSE, ASPEN, CAPE for automating the power system study process.
Familiarity with communication system protocols and architectures in electric power industry (DNP3, MODBUS, IEC61850, OpenFMB, etc.).
Flexibility to work in a multi-customer environment and to adapt to requests/comments made in the course of execution.
Familiarity with transmission, distribution, and smart grid standards;
Strong communication skills including technical writing and presentations
