ABOUT THE ROLE :

This role will focus on all Corteva products to support development and market success with all stakeholders, also working with emerging biological technologies, to quantify performance and identify attributes defining success in key crops. This role will require a high degree of interpersonal effectiveness to work across internal stakeholders, industry partners, business partners and customers, as the grower.

The Customer Agronomist role will be integral for the implementation and management of Corporate/Large Farms engagements in conjunction with the commercial/business teams. The role will be custodians of the customer intimacy (CX) approach and will deliver value to our business partners and Corteva’s target Corporate/Large farms to ultimately drive business growth, post-patent product defense and achievement of Corteva’s annual Operating Plan.

This role is accountable for supporting the Australian commercial team in the development and launch of new products as well as providing technical support and shaping new product concepts or strategic products in key crop solutions for core target markets.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategic Planning: Be Leader of the Large Farm/CX incentives in your area. Develop comprehensive, integrated Large Farm/CX plans aligned with business objectives. Strong cross-functional engagement and communication to drive strong alignment and buy-in across our commercial teams.

Execution of systems: Engages with cross-functional teams to develop and implement business initiatives and actions to achieve priorities such as establishing a fully functional structured Customer Relationship Management (CRM). Lead the precision ag development of scalable systems and deployment of systems or precision ag technology e.g drones, satellite within your area. Adopt and develop systems and process for the implementation of CX methodology, for intimacy and customer satisfaction (Grower). Develop and align KPIs assigned to measure success of implementation and usage of the above systems.

Innovation: Promotes and enables a culture of innovation. The role will be required to lead their or cross-functional team as the voice of the customer’s pain points on market insights, crop challenges, key trends and translate these into clear insights and actionable commercial recommendations that drive shared value for Corteva and key stakeholders/customers. It will be important to develop and maintain dashboards to track and measure performance metrics (success rate, ROI) over time.

Refine Product Positioning: Carry out testing and localisation of new technologies supported in crop integrated solutions, in conjunction with existing products within portfolio or recommended widely used partner chemistry. This will require gaining local data, validation of product/solution success, and building information dossiers to support product launch and crop/market success via self-conducted and partnered trials.

Relationship Management: Build mechanisms and cadences to enable strong relationships across Corteva, target Corporate/Large farms, industry bodies, and business partners. This will include designing and implementing holistic key stakeholder frameworks (decision makers, specific business needs and long-term goals) to establish primary points of contacts between Corporate/ Large farms and Corteva that deliver shared business value. This will be enabled by comprehensive use of CRM databases.

Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with industry associations, local government, and cross-functional internal teams to design and deliver extension programs and community resilience initiatives.

KEY SKILLS & COMPETENCIES FOR THIS ROLE:

  • Considerable experience (5+ years), technical expertise in Broadacre and Horticultural crop protection, plant nutrition, and nutrition management

  • Demonstrated understanding of agronomy relating to plant physiology and applied management.

  • Broad communication and presentation skills, with the ability to create networks across multiple stakeholders (farmers, consultants, food chain, govt officials, technical experts)

  • Able to lead product training (internal and external)

  • Ability to build strong, resilient relationships with a diverse range of people.

  • Ability to balance technical transfer and deliver commercial outcomes

  • Ability to recognize grower needs and develop solutions (i.e. existing or new projects)

  • Willingness to travel.

  • Written proficiency for first draft of tech notes for new uses or product launch
