Main Duties & Responsibilities
The Customer Accounts Specialist serves as the primary point of contact between TriMas Packaging and assigned customer accounts. As the voice of the customer within the organization, this role is responsible for managing customer orders, coordinating cross-functional support, and ensuring exceptional service throughout the order lifecycle. The Customer Accounts Specialist partners closely with Sales, Engineering, Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, and Finance to meet customer requirements and deliver a seamless customer experience.
This role is responsible for order management, standard quoting, logistics coordination, invoicing support, new item setup, and issue resolution. The ideal candidate is highly organized, customer-focused, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while driving continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned customer accounts.
Manage customer orders from receipt through delivery and invoicing.
Communicate with customers via phone and email to process orders, answer inquiries, provide updates, and resolve issues.
Coordinate order entry and demand management across TriMas Packaging manufacturing locations as required.
Partner with scheduling and operations teams to ensure production plans align with customer requirements.
Maintain accurate order status, backlog dates, and delivery commitments within established timelines.
Coordinate freight bookings and logistics activities to support on-time delivery.
Provide freight quotations and shipping information to customers.
Create and distribute proforma invoices and support invoicing activities.
Prepare standard product quotations and support pricing activities.
Coordinate new item setup, sample requests, pre-production orders, and tooling orders.
Partner with Engineering and Technical Sales teams to support drawing requests, product specifications, and new product introductions.
Ensure customer part numbers, product specifications, and ERP data are maintained accurately.
Support color matching, artwork approvals, and decorated product requirements as applicable.
Work closely with Sales teams to understand customer needs, identify growth opportunities, and support business development initiatives.
Manage customer concerns and non-conformance issues, coordinating corrective actions and timely communication.
Facilitate effective communication between customers and internal departments.
Maintain a strong understanding of company systems, processes, quality standards, and customer requirements.
Continuously seek opportunities to improve customer satisfaction, service efficiency, and internal processes.
Support team members by sharing best practices and contributing to a collaborative work environment.
Represent TriMas Packaging professionally in all customer and internal interactions.
Perform other duties as assigned.
This role is required to be on-site 5 days at the Auburn, IN location.

Qualifications
Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
2-5 years of experience in Customer Service, Sales Support, Account Management, Marketing, Supply Chain, or a related field.
Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
Experience with ERP systems (Syteline or equivalent preferred).
Strong customer service and relationship management skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Project management and coordination experience preferred.
Continuous improvement mindset with attention to detail and compliance.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.
Demonstrated professionalism, initiative, and accountability.
