Advanced Supply Chain Group offer a complete end-to-end supply chain service, from source to shelf, covering all aspects of supply chain management, global logistics, fulfilment, and value-added services, allowing our customers to maximise the opportunities that exist in today’s technology-enabled marketplace. Using our unique intelligent supply chain model, we design innovative solutions to complex challenges, unlock new opportunities, and speed up and streamline existing processes by removing complexity from the supply chain. It all adds up to providing a service that is “Better, Faster, Cheaper” than our competitors.
Our core values drive everything we do. We believe in promoting a supportive environment for our colleagues, delivering exceptional service to our customers, contributing to the community, and working towards a more sustainable environment If you share these values and are passionate about making a positive impact, we'd love to have you on our team.
About the role
Are you passionate about building strong relationships and delivering exceptional service? We're looking for a motivated and customer focused Account Manager to join our dynamic team. This is full-time permanent position working on-site at our Sheffield site and in return you will receive a competitive salary of £30,000 - £34,000 along with a structured development plan that includes training, mentorship, and clear opportunities for career growth within our organisation.
You'll be the friendly, reliable voice our customers turn to - managing their expectations, keeping them in the loop on performance, and making sure their returns are handled quickly, accurately and without fuss. Behind the scenes, you'll work hand-in-hand with our Transport, Planning and Client Relationship teams to keep everything ticking along smoothly.
No two days will look the same: one minute you could be digging into the numbers behind a customer's returns performance, the next you're on the phone sorting a stock query or spotting a smarter way to do things.
• Being the main point of contact for your customers, building relationships that go beyond the transactional
• Keeping customers in the loop through regular meetings, site visits and calls
• Turning returns data into clear, useful monthly reports on performance, KPIs and trends
• Coordinating with Transport and logistics partners to keep returns moving smoothly, in and out
• Keeping stock records accurate and customers updated on where things stand
• Getting to the bottom of stock discrepancies and putting them right
• Making sure charges and invoicing are accurate and on time
• Spotting opportunities to grow and improve the service you offer
• Being a go-to source of support for colleagues on customer-specific returns queries
• Working with planning teams to keep returns volumes forecasted and on schedule
• Digging into trends to fix root causes, not just symptoms
• Keeping stock control watertight, from the moment goods arrive to final reconciliation
• Making sure everything you do stacks up against quality, environmental and regulatory standards
What we need from you
• Experience in a customer-facing role
• Confident with Microsoft Office and comfortable pulling data from IT systems
• A drive to hit KPIs, paired with a genuinely positive, can-do attitude
• A team player who's just as comfortable building relationships externally as internally
• Strong negotiation skills and the confidence to make decisions
• Sharp attention to detail and a clear, confident communicator
• Honesty, integrity, and a genuine empathy for the customer experience
It would also be great (but not essential) if you have:
• 3PL returns experience, ideally across a multi-client operation
• Experience in a customer service returns environment
• Warehouse returns process experience
• Familiarity with Warehouse Management System (WMS) solutions
