& Summary

Meet your future team

You will join PwC Luxembourg’s Government and Public Sector Advisory team, working closely with strategy consultants specialised in customs, trade policy, and international governance. The team collaborates across disciplines and geographies to support public authorities and international institutions on complex transformation agendas.

What your role will look like

As a Trainee, you will contribute to strategy consulting engagements supporting the modernisation of customs administrations and customs unions. The role exists to strengthen analytical depth and help translate policy ambitions into actionable reform and transformation initiatives.

  • Contribute to strategy consulting projects for customs administrations, customs unions, and international institutions, supporting reform, governance, and digital transformation agendas.

  • Develop governance frameworks, reform roadmaps, and policy recommendations for public authorities and international institutions.

  • Conduct research and analysis on EU customs and trade regulatory frameworks, including CBAM, trade facilitation, and customs union governance.

  • Take ownership of defined workstreams, producing high‑quality reports, frameworks, and presentations with increasing autonomy.

  • Support project management and coordination activities across multi‑workstream engagements to ensure quality and timely delivery.

Your growth and opportunities

You will gain early exposure to EU‑level and international policy environments while working alongside experienced strategy consultants. Over time, your responsibilities will expand as you take ownership of broader analytical scopes and engage more closely with clients and stakeholders.

The skills you bring

  • You are completing a Master’s degree (Bac+5) in Customs or EU Law, International Relations, Political Science, Economics, or a related discipline with strong exposure to public policy or international governance.

  • Working knowledge of EU customs and trade regulatory frameworks (e.g. Union Customs Code, WTO Trade Facilitation Agreement, CBAM) from a public administration or policy perspective.

  • Ability to conduct structured research and analysis and translate complex regulatory topics into clear insights and recommendations.

  • Excellent spoken and written English (CEFR level to be confirmed).

Ways of working

  • You think critically and structure information clearly to support decision‑making.

  • You take ownership of your work, operate independently, and navigate ambiguity constructively.

  • You collaborate effectively with others to deliver shared outcomes.

  • You act with integrity, handle confidential information with care, and uphold high ethical standards in every situation.

Additional skills that would support your success

French, Luxembourgish, or Modern Standard Arabic language skills.

The skills listed reflect what matters most to succeed in this role. If your experience aligns with them, even if your path looks different, we encourage you to apply and start the conversation with us.
