As a Functional Test Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of SAP Utilities InterCompany Data Exchange (IDE) solutions through comprehensive testing and validation activities. Your typical day will involve analyzing business requirements, creating test scenarios and test cases, executing functional and integration testing, validating data exchange processes, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure successful delivery of high-quality business solutions. You will work within agile environments to support system enhancements, identify defects, and ensure end-to-end business process integrity.

Roles & Responsibilities:
Expected to perform independently and become a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in SAP Utilities IDE testing.
Actively participate and contribute to team discussions related to testing strategy, defect management, and release planning.
Contribute to providing solutions for work-related testing challenges and quality concerns.
Collaborate with business analysts, developers, and stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into test scenarios and test cases.
Design, execute, and maintain functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end test cases.
Validate inbound and outbound intercompany data exchange processes and system integrations.
Identify, document, track, and verify defects through resolution and closure.
Participate in test planning, test execution, defect triage, and test reporting activities.
Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and coordinate with business users during validation activities.
Participate in reviews of test artifacts to ensure adherence to testing standards and best practices.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for testing processes and quality assurance practices.

Professional & Technical Skills

Must Have Skills:
Proficiency in SAP for Utilities InterCompany Data Exchange (IDE).
Strong experience in Functional Testing, System Integration Testing (SIT), Regression Testing, and UAT Support.
Experience in preparing test plans, test scenarios, test cases, and test execution reports.
Strong understanding of Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Knowledge of intercompany data exchange processes, message validation, and interface testing.
Familiarity with Agile methodologies and testing tools.

Good to Have Skills:
Experience with test management and defect tracking tools such as JIRA, ALM, or similar platforms.
Knowledge of SAP IS-U business processes and integrations.
Exposure to test automation concepts and regression testing frameworks.
Understanding of market communication, data exchange, and interface validation processes in utility environments.

Ability to troubleshoot and resolve functional issues effectively.

Additional Information:
The candidate should have a minimum of 3 years of experience in SAP Utilities InterCompany Data Exchange (IDE) Functional Testing.
This position is based at our Pune office.
A 15 years full-time education is required.
