As a Performance Engineer in a centralized team, you will provide performance engineering expertise across multiple projects and lines of business. Your typical day will involve partnering with distributed delivery teams to define performance requirements, design and review performance test strategies, analyze results, and recommend optimization actions. You will act as a central point of excellence, establishing standards, reusable assets, and best practices for performance engineering. The role requires strong analytical skills, the ability to identify performance bottlenecks, influence and guide teams without direct authority, and a continuous improvement mindset to uplift performance maturity across the organization.

Project Role Description: As part of a centralized Performance Engineering team, design, implement, and govern performance engineering practices across multiple programs, applications, and platforms. Drive consistent standards, tooling, and methodologies to ensure systems are scalable, stable, and responsive under expected and peak workloads.

Good to have skills: Application Performance Monitoring (APM) Tools (e.g., Dynatrace, Splunk, ELK), Cloud Performance Optimization

Roles & Responsibilities:
- Serve as a centralized subject matter expert (SME) for performance engineering and performance testing across projects.
- Define and maintain enterprise-wide performance engineering standards, frameworks, templates, and guidelines.
- Partner with project/ product teams to shape performance strategies, non-functional requirements, and success criteria (KPIs, SLAs, SLOs).
- Provide architectural and design guidance to ensure performance, scalability, and reliability are considered early in the lifecycle.
- Analyze performance test results from multiple teams, identify systemic bottlenecks and patterns, and recommend remediation actions.
- Conduct performance assessments and health checks for critical applications and platforms.
- Run coaching and knowledge-sharing sessions to uplift performance engineering capabilities across delivery teams.
- Produce consolidated performance dashboards and reports for leadership, highlighting risks, trends, and recommendations.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, and SRE/DevOps teams to define capacity planning, scalability strategies, and performance monitoring baselines.
Professional & Technical Skills:
- Must To Have Skills: Strong proficiency in IT Performance Optimization (Performance Engineering).
- Hands-on experience with at least one major performance testing tool (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner, NeoLoad, Gatling).
- Solid understanding of web, API, and microservices architectures and their performance characteristics.
- Proven experience in interpreting performance metrics (response time, throughput, resource utilization, error rates) and identifying bottlenecks across application, database, and infrastructure layers.
- Experience in performance tuning and optimization at multiple tiers (application, database, caching, network, cloud).
Additional Information:
- The candidate should have minimum 5 years of experience in IT Performance Optimization.
- This position is based at our Bengaluru office.
