As a Custom Fabricator/Welder III, you are responsible for performing fabrication and welding TAD baffles and other complex fabrications which requires extensive knowledge of techniques and procedures as they relate to fabricating, assembling and welding. The role holder is expected to read drawings, exercise judgment, and use skills to attain accuracy and conformance to specifications with minimal supervision.
What will you do at Valmet?
Select specified sheet from stock, perform layout that indicates bending, cutting, and drilling according to drawing, sketch, or verbal instruction.
Apply extensive knowledge of mechanics and advanced mathematics.
Construct complex components out of various materials including TAD baffles, collectors and modules.
Operate and set up fabricating machines such as shears, brakes, rolls, punch and drill presses, as well as attach rigging and operate an overhead crane and/or lift truck to move parts as needed.
Set up and operate GMAW, GTAW, SMAW, FCAW, OFC, rolls and Plasma Cutting equipment.
Use 6S principles to maintain order and cleanliness throughout the fabrication process
Have a willingness to work overtime in order to meet delivery schedules.
Two-year technical college degree in manufacturing technology or equivalent formal training program.
Minimum of 5 years related fabrication experience
Ability to read and understand complex drawings and various types of measuring instruments.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
